Science et Esprit
The Science and Spirit journal was set up in 1948 by professors of philosophy and theology of the Society of Jesus in Montreal. At first known under the name of Ecclesiastical Sciences and published in the form of annual exercise books from 1948 till 1952, the journal acquired then the rhythm of publication, which it preserved since then, of annual three numbers from 100 to 150 pages each.
Specialized on a scientific level since the beginning in philosophy and in theology, it closely followed the evolution of these disciplines, by making a particular place in philosophy epistemology and theology, in the scientific exegesis of the Bible, in the methods and the new approaches which developed in this domain during the second half of the 20th century.
After fifty years of existence ( 1948-1998 ), having acquired, supervised by its first international editors, a credibility and a brilliance in the scientific world and having gained a very enviable reputation, Science and Spirit passed under the responsibility of the Collège universitaire dominicain d’Ottawa. |
